Automotive Sculpture Gallery
A Selection of Automotive Sculpture by Anthony Lauro
I make my automotive sculpture with the same tools and techniques as the original Carrozzerias. I use the same revered metal crafting skills that once created icons such as the Ferrari 250 GTO and the Talbot Lago. I capture the pure essence of my subject in a flurry of metal shapes and ribbons. I also like to incorporate the wooden buck. It is an integral part of the metal working process and visually contrasts the raw metal.
My goal is not a literal scale representation of the car. I am not a scale model builder. I prefer to portray the vehicle at speed and impart a sense of motion and energy. I will often add realistic details to further embellish the designs but my primary focus is always on the visual emotion of implied movement from a hidden force.
My automotive sculpture varies from 1/4 scale pieces to full size installations. The majority of my sculptures are hand formed out of .050 aluminum using tradition metal working tools. I also enjoy working in composites and have created a few smaller carbon fiber and acrylic sculptures for collectors.
I have displayed my automotive sculpture for many years at the Cavallino Classic in Palm Beach, FL. I currently am not scheduled to display at any additional shows due to a six month back log of commissions. However, I am always open to new venues and opportunities to display my automotive sculpture. I am also still accepting commissions.
Kindly enjoy the videos below for a glimpse into the artistic process of my automotive sculpture.

"I visited his studio whilst he was shaping his first sculpture, 'Heritage of Speed', which features the legendary pontoon fender Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, and was amazed by his dexterity with the materials to produce what promised to be a truly exciting piece of art."
"Inherently valuable and instantly collectible, the original automotive art and hand-formed aluminum automotive sculptures of Anthony Lauro are responsible and rewarding investments for the most serious automotive fine art collector and enthusiast."

"If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari."
